INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Kyle Larson might be the busiest driver in motorsports.He started Saturday by practicing and qualifying for the Brickyard 200 then traveled to Iowa where he led all 50 laps to claim his second win in three years at the prestigious Knoxville Nationals. Authorities investigate serious crash in Prince George’s Co.; 911 caller reported car ‘firing shots’

Prince George’s County, Maryland, police have a suspect in custody who they say crashed outside Joint Base Andrews after reportedly firing shots at another car Sunday.One person was seriously hurt in the crash.At about 1:40 p.m. Sunday,  a driver called 911 said they were being followed on Suitland Road by a black BMW that was “firing shots” at them, according to authorities.Several minutes later, a Morningside police cruiser allegedly spotted a BMW that matched the description at the intersection of Suitland Road and Allentown Road. Police said the BMW lost control and careened into a car waiting to turn on Allentown Road. The driver of that car was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. Two juveniles in the car were hurt as well but are expected to survive.Meanwhile, the driver of the BMW ran away on foot but was caught by Morningside Police, according to authorities. (AP) — Union Pacific’s new CEO Jim Vena started Monday by promising to improve safety and service to help the railroad grow, but he cautioned that “the road ahead won’t be an easy one.”Some of the Omaha, Nebraska, railroad’s biggest unions are already lukewarm on Vena’s hiring because he is a strong proponent of the lean operating model UP and the rest of the industry have been using in recent years that led to widespread job cuts. Federal officials are investigating an incident in which a private plane was told to abort its landing to avoid hitting a Southwest Airlines jet that was using the same runway to take off in the latest in a series of recent close calls between planes.The Federal Aviation Administration said Monday that it is investigating the incident, which happened Friday at San Diego International Airport.A Cessna Citation business jet was told to cut short its approach to landing and circle around because a Southwest plane was still on the runway, the FAA said. According to the agency’s preliminary review, an air traffic controller cleared the private jet to land and then told the Southwest pilots to taxi on to the same runway and wait for approval to take off.The private jet was able to pull up and circle before landing safely. (AP) — Michael Oher, the former NFL tackle known for the movie “The Blind Side,” filed a petition Monday in a Tennessee probate court accusing Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy of lying to him by having him sign papers making them his conservators rather than his adoptive parents nearly two decades ago.In the petition filed Monday in Shelby County Probate Court, Oher asks for the conservatorship to be terminated along with asking for a full accounting of the money earned off the use of his name and story.He also asks to be paid what he is due along with interest. Russia’s central bankers are expected to hike interest rates at an emergency meeting on Tuesday to respond to an accelerated weakening of the ruble and a deteriorating economy, as the war against Ukraine and sanctions bite hard.
